These are not simple on-off solenoid valves, they are rather programmable valves capable of providing useful information for predictive maintenance. Indeed, solenoid valves with IO-Link interface integrate the valve into a digital communication system managed by PLC, and collect operating data and environmental information useful for predictive diagnostics. The on-board electronics of the DS3GL solenoid valves allows the valve to be controlled directly from the PLC with a low power digital signal. This means energy saving!

As far as programming is concerned, it is possible to modify the switching times of the spool avoiding annoying pressure shocks and to reduce the current value sent to the coil when the spool is hold in the actuated position.

The IO-link interface allows you to monitor:

- switching times

- the supply voltage of the solenoid

- the voltage of the command signal

- the value of the current sent to the solenoid

- the total operating time of the valve

- the operating time since the last shutdown
